Thomas Heldgaard

Thomas is the Managing Director of the UK and Ireland business of Rockwool, the world’s leading manufacturer of stone wool insulation products.

Thomas has led the UK and Ireland business since his arrival in the UK in the Spring of 2011.

Prior to taking up this role, Thomas was Managing Director of Rockwool’s Asian operations and has worked in a career with Rockwool spanning seventeen years.

Thomas is a Danish national and is married with four children.

Wayne Gwilym

Wayne Gwilym is the Human Resources Director for the UK and Ireland business of Rockwool, the world’s leading manufacturer of stone wool insulation products.

He joined the organisation in 2001.

Prior to joining the business Wayne’s long career in HR spanned a variety of industry sectors both across the UK and internationally, focussing on scenarios of high growth and management of significant change.

 He is married and has three children.

Mike Rees

Mike Rees joined Rockwool Limited as Finance Director in 2004, with responsibilities covering Finance, Credit Control, Procurement and IT for Rockwool’s UK and Irish business. Mike also acts as Company Secretary to Rockwool’s legal entities as well as the Rockwool Pension Scheme.

Mike is a chartered accountant, having qualified with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), and has since held management positions in Corus Group and Solutia.

Mike is married with three children and lives in Cardiff.

Andrew Champ

Andrew joined the technical services department of Rockwool in 1988, before working in the export area on high profile jobs such as Hong Kong airport and the Malaysian commonwealth games.

After spending 2 years in Canada, developing the roofing programme, he returned to the UK business developing the Rockwool range of products and services.

Andrew took up the role of Business Development Director in October 2009.

Leo Hassett

Leo Hassett is Commercial Director for the UK and Ireland

Leo joined Rockwool Ireland in 2008 as Rockwool’s first Managing Director with responsibility for all of Ireland North and South of the boarder. In October 2009 he added the UK Sales Director role to his responsibilities.

Prior to joining Rockwool Leo held a number of general management roles across the Telecoms, Investment Management and Information Software sectors, working with AIB Capital Markets, Reuters, and Eircom.

Paula Bateman

Paula Bateman is Rockwool GB’s Corporate Affairs Director, responsible for the company’s external communications strategy, public policy and brand reputation management.

Paula has a broad range of experience in communications, including brand implementation and management, media relations, employee communications and change management strategies and event management.

Before joining Rockwool, Paula held senior communication positions within G4S and Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC).

Steve Hurley

Steve Hurley is the Operations Director for Rockwool's UK and Ireland business.

Steve joined Rockwool in 1979 and worked for RW-GB for 10 years before accepting the Factory Manager's role in Canada and relocated there with his family.  In 1997, Steve took up a similar role in Poland and was there for the next three years.  In 2000 , after being offered the Technical Directors position in RW-GB , Steve returned home to the UK where he stayed for the next four years.  The travel bug bit again and in 2005 Steve was off to RW-Russia as Production Director.  Steve finally returned in his current role to the UK in 2009.

Steve is married with four children.
