ROCKWOOL Group Statement
ROCKWOOL welcomes the DCLG’s guidance issued following the latest BRE test results. We strongly support the finding of the expert panel; that no system containing an ACM category 3 cladding panel, even when combined with limited combustibility insulation material, would meet current Building Regulations guidance and therefore presents a significant hazard on buildings over 18 metres.
We support the advice of the expert panel that existing systems be replaced with a system where all of the elements of the wall are of limited combustibility, to limit the potential for external fire spread and best protect public safety. That said, we continue to believe that the best approach is to ensure that all buildings above 18m are clad and insulated only with non-combustible materials.
