Lifecycle savings

Rockwool insulation is a natural, sustainable and environmentally friendly solution for schools:

      • Rockwool insulation is manufactured using a state-of-the-art production process that does not use, and has never used, harmful gases such as CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, in fact any ‘blowing agents’ that have Ozone Depleting Potential or Global Warming Potentialfrom the energy it saves, fewer fossil fuels need to be burnt and so less carbon is released into the atmosphere
      • it is maintenance-free and saves the cost of installing separate acoustic, thermal and
        fire resistant materials
      • even when the building is demolished, the insulation can be returned to Rockwool and recycled back into the production process
      • around 38,000 times more new reserves of diabase rock are created each year through volcanic activity than are extracted to make Rockwool products
      • most Rockwool building products achieve A+ and A ratings under the BRE Green Guide, which assesses the environmental impact of products across their lifecycle from extraction of raw materials to final disposal
