Energy efficient solutions provider ROCKWOOL is putting energy saving advice for residents at the heart of its projects with a series of events in the communities where it works. The first Energy Saving Community Fete, held at the Edward Woods estate in West London, saw residents receive advice from experts and learn more about the measures installed in their community.

A new classification system for insulation products, launched by the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) and backed by the Health & Safety Executive, has identified Stone Wool as the only insulation product to achieve its highest ‘Type 3’ rating. The system uses independent test results included as part of the UKTFA guidance ‘Design Guide to Separating Distances During Construction’ which has been created to help building designers to mitigate the potential for fire spread between buildings during the building phase of timber frame projects.

Noisy homes are now a major turn off for house-hunters according to new research from insulation specialist ROCKWOOL, which found that 87% of buyers and tenants, equivalent to 41.2 million people, said noise levels are an important consideration when they’re looking to buy or rent, with almost half 43% saying they’re very important.
