It is anticipated there will be over 26,000 fires in British homes this February as disaster strikes when people try to make romantic gestures, according to research and analysis by non-combustible insulation manufacturer Rockwool. Distracted by amorous activities, couples are causing huge numbers of blazes when leaving candles alight near soft furnishings and scarves draped for hours over hot lamps.
