Environmental policy
As an environmentally responsible company, Rockwool has developed an Environmental Policy that aims to promote the sustainable production and use of our insulation by minimising waste, preventing pollution and operating an ISO 14001 accredited environmental management system. The Policy is freely available to staff, stakeholders and members of the public.
Rockwool Environmental policy
Rockwool Ltd. (the Company) is a manufacturer of mineral wool insulation, located in South Wales. It is the Company’s aim to achieve environmental excellence through the implementation of a certified environmental management system. Rockwool aims to be the preferred supplier of products, systems and solutions for improved energy efficiency, acoustic performance and fire safety in buildings.
Policy Objectives
- To comply with all relevant legislation and appropriate Codes of Practice and to attain, where feasible, standards in excess of those required by statute.
- To monitor on a regular basis all aspects of the Company's impact on the environment.
- To operate an effective environmental management system which meets the requirements of ISO 14001: 2004.
- To remain committed to pollution prevention.
- To minimise the process emissions from the manufacturing process to air, water and land.
- To prevent, reduce and recycle waste.
- Our largest environmental impact comes from the use of Rockwool products that can save more than 100 times the energy used for its production. We aim to assist customers in the highest standards of energy efficiency.
- To encourage and monitor key suppliers to attain and maintain standards of environmental protection in their activities.
- To ensure that new plant, processes and practices are assessed for their environmental impact, incorporating positive environmental impacts where possible.
- To ensure that all employees are informed of their individual responsibilities in implementing the Company policy.
- To inform and consult with local residents about any environmental issues, taking appropriate actions where identified.
- To continually improve environmental performance and to perform regular environmental reviews and set new targets and objectives.
- To make this policy available to all staff, stakeholders and the public.
