Environmental policy
As an environmentally responsible company, Rockwool has developed an Environmental Policy that aims to promote the sustainable production and use of our insulation by minimising waste, preventing pollution and operating an ISO 14001 accredited environmental management system. The Policy is freely available to staff, stakeholders and members of the public.

Rockwool Limited (the Company) is the UK subsidiary of Rockwool Group, the world’s leading supplier of products and systems based on stone wool.
It is the Company’s aim to continuously assess the environmental effects of our products, projects, policies and operations with a view to reducing and controlling the environmental impact of the business.
Rockwool aims to be the preferred supplier of sustainable products, systems and solutions for improved energy efficiency, acoustic performance and fire safety in buildings.
Policy Objectives
- Rockwool is committed to continuous improvement; monitoring all aspects of the Company’s impact on the environment, performing regular environmental management reviews and setting challenging new targets and objectives for environmental performance.
- Rockwool has a commitment to pollution prevention and invests in processes and equipment to minimise emissions to air, land and water.
- Rockwool operates an effective environmental management system and is certified to ISO14001:2004.
- Rockwool is committed to preventing, reducing and recycling waste arising from the manufacture of our products and assisting customers to do the same by offering a recyclable product.
- Rockwool provides a positive environmental benefit by reducing the need for heating fuels and the pollution created by their combustion, through development and promotion of effective thermal insulation solutions.
- Rockwool encourages and monitors key suppliers to attain and maintain recognised standards of environmental protection.
- Rockwool informs all employees of their individual responsibilities in implementing the Company policy
- Rockwool informs and consults with local residents about any environmental issues, taking appropriate actions where identified.
- Rockwool complies with all relevant legislation and Codes of Practice and strives to attain, wherever feasible, standards in excess of those required by statute.
- Rockwool has made this policy available to all staff, stakeholders and the public.
