Flanking - Separating wall junctions

Rockwool Acoustic Party Wall dpc meets the requirements of ADE Section 2 Part E, Robust Details and Part B (Fire stopping).

Installation must follow good practice for the detailing of damp proof courses, as set out in the relevant clauses of BS 5628: Part 3, BS 8215 and BS 8000: Part 3.

. Ensure all perpend joints are fully filled with mortar
. Ensure external cavity wall is stopped with Rockwool Acoustic PartyWall dpc at the separating wall junction (unless the external cavity wall is fully filled with Rockwool)
. Ensure correct wall ties are used, e.g. butterfly ties (or as BUS 1243)
. Ensure that mortar does not build up on the wall ties to form acoustic bridge
. Ensure the ONLY connections between each side of the separating wall are via the wall ties or foundation
. Ensure separating walls are taken full height to the underside of the roof structure and fire stopped with Rockwool Flexi or Rockwool Intumescent Expansion Joint.

Acoustic Party Wall dpc should be built in as brickwork/ blockwork proceeds.

The dpc projects beyond the insulation by 40 mm on each side and should be installed to lie against the inside face of the outer leaf.

Supplied in 1200 mm lengths of insulation, Acoustic Party Wall dpc may be easily cut on site as required.

Where more than one length is required, adjoining lengths are simply butt jointed together. The upper piece must be installed with the 100 mm dpc extension at the bottom, lapping to the outside of the lower piece ensuring a tight butt joint of the insulation.

Due to the flexible nature of Acoustic Party Wall dpc some local delamination of the Rockwool insulation may occur during site handling or installation. This does not detract from the performance of the product, either in its installation or in its long term durability
