Masonry walls Cut and friction fit coated batt between services and wall, buttering the edges of the slab with the fire rated coating - use as an adhesive. Fill any joints or holes in the barrier with the coating or the Acoustic Sealant. PVC services must be protected with collars or multi-cable firestop as appropriate.
Plasterboard walls Cut out board around service penetrations. Box out penetrations using metal stud noggins. Cut friction fit coated batt between services and stud noggin on both sides of the wall, buttering the edges of the slab with the fire rated coating - use as an adhesive.
Fill any joints or holes in the barrier with the coating or the Acoustic Sealant. PVC pipework or trunking must be protected with collars or multi-cable firestop as appropriate.
* Plastic pipework needs to be sleeved with Rockwool Firepro Pipe Collars prior to installation of the Ablative Coated Batts.
These must be mechanically fixed with steel angles, min 30mm × 30mm × 1.6mm, or similar to the surrounding substrate.
