Fire Stopping - Compartment Walls & Floors– Services and Cables
The product is manufactured to be wrapped around the outside diameter of the pipework or trunking and is secured by means of a self-adhesive strip. The Intumescent Pipe Wrap is then positioned within the compartment wall or floor so that the edge of the product is left exposed at the face of the wall or soffit.
1) Check that pipe surface is clear of mortar.
2) Ensure that the correct pipe band is installed to suit diameter and fire rating.
3) Wrap around pipe and fix with integral self-adhesive strip.
4) Slide into position ensuring that the bottom edge is exposed in a floor slab and both edges are exposed in the wall. Two bands may be necessary when the wall thickness exceeds 150mm.
5) Seal the pipe band into the structure with Rockwool Firestop Compound.
