| ROCKWOOL SOLUTIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS |
In Residential Buildings, insulation can be used for thermal, acoustic and fire insulation in ceilings, walls, floors and roofs. Increasing the energy efficiency in residential buildings involves improvements to the building envelope. The level of insulation required to satisfy the specification is expressed in terms of U-values for the main structural elements, such as the walls, roof, etc. U-values measure the rate of energy loss through these elements. This rate can be reduced by incorporating more insulation within the application.
To comply with building regulations and as part of the design process, you may need to submit SAP calculations to Building Control. If you require more information on SAP 2005 we suggest you visit the BuildDesk website. BuildDesk produces the leading SAP 2005 software tool, BuildDesk Energy Design, together with training and consultancy. BuildDesk is a member of the Rockwool Group
Inside buildings, the recommended maximum average for indoor background noise levels is 35 dB. In practice many tenants suffer from noise above this level because their building is not sufficiently sound proofed.
Find the best thermal, acoustic and fire solutions by construction type to make both new and existing buildings sustainable, more energy efficient and help to protect the environment from the effects of climate change. For more detail on each application, please click on a link below. |
