Stairwell area: Airborne sound & reverberation

Airborne sound insulation - Internal walls

The objective is to absorb sound in corridors, entrance halls and stairwells so that it does not interfere with teaching and study activities in adjacent rooms. A typical lightweight metal stud wall can be insulated with Rockwool Acoustic partition slab to
achieve Rw 41dB . For a 50mm Metal ‘C’ studs @ 600mm ctrs construction, one layer of 12.5mm standard wallboard (8 Kg/m2) on both sides and 25mm Rockwool Acoustic Partition Slab will be enough.

Hear the difference in noise levels of airborne sound.
