  Installing Rockwool Flexi

Separating Walls – Twin timber without sheathing board

Robust detail E-WT-1

Rockwool SoundPro robust detail guidance specification
. Wall width 240mm min. between inner faces of wall linings. 50mm min. gap between studs.
. Wall lining 2 or more layers of gypsum-based board (total nominal mass per unit area 22 Kg/m2) both sides.
. Rockwool Flexi 60mm min. both sides

60mm Rockwool Flexi is to be installed to a tight fit in each studs and cut to close fit above and below horizontal noggings as necessary.

The flexible long edge of the slab allows for the 600 mm wide product to be flexed into the 562mm space timber studs.

The wall width should be minimum 240mm between inner face of the wall linings and a minimum gab between the studs of 50mm.

Two or more layers of gypsum-bases board (total nominal mass per unit area 22kg/m2) are fixed on both sides of the studs.

Note: if stud is not plumb, for example, 560 mm space at base and 590 mm space at top, Flexi will fit space accurately without cutting.
