  Installing Rockfloor with Flexi

Separating floors – Concrete deck

Minimum 25mm Rockfloor acoustic insulation is laid under minimum 65mm sand cement screeds and supported on leveled suspended dense concrete slabs or hollow core units, with a mass of minimum 300kg/m2.

The rebated Rockfloor boards allow non-anhydrite screeds to be laid directly onto the boards without the use of a separating layer.

The Rockfloor boards are laid lengthways to the longest wall, in a staggered joint pattern, tissue face upwards. The off cut at one end of the first row is then used to start the next row and similarly with subsequent rows.

50 x 50mm softwood battens are fixed to the soffit with an optional 50mm Flexi between battens. Resilient bars are fixed to the timber battens and 1 layer of plasterboard with a mass of minimum 10kg/m2 is fixed to the bars.
