Enhanced Capital Allowances
Businesses can claim back Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) on the cost of some energy saving plants and machinery. For example, using ROCKWOOL insulation to thermally insulate pipes could qualify. Eligible products may include: H&V Pipe Sections, Process Pipe Sections, Pipe Section Mat, Industrial Wired Mat and HD Wired Mat. Other ROCKWOOL products could also be suitable in certain circumstances and may also qualify for ECAs.
Using ROCKWOOL insulation could help you to achieve BREEAM credits in:
- Health and wellbeing: acoustic performance
- Energy: reduction in CO² emissions
- Materials: material specification and insulation
- Waste: construction site waste management
The newest version of LEED is set to be rolled out in Autumn 2016 and further information will be available shortly on where we can help customers gain additional credits.
Please contact us to find out if using ROCKWOOL products could help you claim credits under previous versions of LEED. Download LEED fact sheet here.
Environmental Product Declarations
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are based on life cycle assessment, meaning that the environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product’s life are considered – ranging from raw material extraction, through to the manufacture of the product, as well as its transportation and end of life disposal.
EPDs allow the communication of environmental data for use in Building Sustainability Assessments.
ROCKWOOL has invested in EPD expertise and is rolling out EPDs across the countries in which we operate.
Note: Because the underlying datasets and depth of information included differs from company to company, EPDs cannot yet be used to draw comparisons between products yet.
