Sustainability at ROCKWOOL

When it comes to our approach to sustainability, it is, simply put, a matter of living our purpose to address the challenges of modern living in a sustainable manner. This means using natural materials to make products that have a positive impact on society.

ROCKWOOL takes its contribution to society and the environment  seriously. At its core, our business centres on the creation of products that improve energy efficiency, and the products themselves are made from a natural, sustainable source – volcanic rock.

We also work hard to support our communities through local initiatives as well as global work led by the ROCKWOOL Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which controls around a quarter of all ROCKWOOL International shares.

All of this work is supported and evidenced by our own sustainability reporting as well as independent external accreditations and awards.

At the pinnacle of ROCKWOOL’s strategy is our corporate Purpose: to release the natural power of stone to enrich modern living. This reflects our Purpose’s unifying nature, conveying that stone is our core raw material and the bedrock on which
our business is based.

We need to continue working hard to produce even better products and leaving a smaller footprint in the process – that includes thinking sustainability into our products, operations, and R&D as well.”
