HARDROCK Multi-Fix (DD)

Effective and durable roof insulation can prevent significant heat loss from residential and commercial properties. Increasing the energy efficiency of a building can also mean reducing bills and operating costs.

We supply a variety of insulation products for flat or pitched roofs, as well as loft insulation, made from premium stone wool to keep temperatures consistent.

The fire-resilient properties of ROCKWOOL products also allow for more freedom in your designs.

Roof Insulation Products

Why do we need roof insulation?

Homes and commercial properties that are not effectively insulated can lose approximately a quarter of heat through the roof.

Insulation helps to maintain the building’s optimum temperature, so you can get creative with the results. Turn a loft area into a living space or an extra bedroom or turn a flat roof into a welcoming terrace or green roof.

Insulating a flat or pitched roof – or a loft – can help:

  • Prevent heat loss
  • Increase the energy efficiency of a property
  • Save money on heating bills
  • Reduce the carbon footprint of a property
  • Improve summer comfort

Calculator and savings

Every home and business is different. With various sizes and dimensions of flat or pitched roofs, as well as budgets and bills to consider, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.

The savings homes or businesses stand to make can more than make up for the costs of roof insulation

In terms of money that can be saved, energy use and reducing the carbon footprint, installing roofing insulation is well worth the investment.

A three-bedroom semi-detached house could deliver a return on the investment on insulation in just three years2, as the gradual savings on energy outgrow the initial outlay.

ROCKWOOL applications incorporate the latest BIM techniques to determine the required U-value for a project. This helps to predict the costs of an individual project, whatever the size and scope. Use our ROCKWOOL U-value calculator for more information.

Case Studies

The project

The remarkable and innovative Zaha Hadid-designed Port House building in Antwerp, Belgium was created as a sustainable workplace for the headquarters of Europe’s second-largest port.

The challenge

Port House required protection against the noise from technical installations on its complex flat roof, as well as effective fire protection to ensure the highest possible safety standards.

The solution

ROCKWOOL stone wool products were installed due to their effective acoustic properties, while ROCKWOOL roof insulation boards used in the building met the highest A1 Fire Class rating.

Our ‘cut to fall’ service also allowed the insulation to be custom-fitted to Port House’s unusual boat-shaped roof – facilitating swift installation and allowing the right angle for draining rainwater from the surface.

The excellent acoustic performance of ROCKWOOL stone wool is an important advantage…the highly detailed cut-to-fall plan [also] helped us a great deal.
